Description

Mosshouse Wood Cascade is a structure consisting of a series of cascades that descend a steep ravine, measuring approximately 200 meters in length. At the top, there is a restored rubble stone cairn over which the water flows, fed by a pipe that brings water from a stream located higher up. The cascades are partially carved from the bedrock and partially built from stone blocks that are laid dry. At the bottom of the cascades, there is a rustic footbridge featuring a segmental arch made of thin voussoirs and a deck covered in grass.
