Description
The entrance gates, walls, and railings at Capel Salem, also known as Capel y Cwm, are notable features of the chapel. The structure includes two large gatepiers made of rock-faced rubble stone, which have plinths and ashlar pyramidal Gothic caps with gablets on each face. The ornate double iron gates are decorated with intricate scrollwork. On either side of the gates, there are coursed sandstone retaining walls topped with ashlar chamfered coping, which support low railings that match the design of the gates.
