Description

The Italian Bridge in Clyne Gardens is a small single-span bridge made of concrete and rubble stone. The abutments curve outward and end in square concrete piers that feature moulded panels and copings. The parapet includes recessed panels and moulded coping. Ramped approaches lead to a flat deck. Beneath the arch, there is a concrete-lined basin with moulded stone coping. On the downhill side, a rubble revetment supports a freestanding pillar made of rubble stone, which has moulded coping and is likely intended for a statue.
