Description

Margaret’s Cottage is a two-storey, two-window cottage dating from an unknown period. It is constructed of whitewashed rubble with a straw-thatched roof featuring 'eyebrows' over the front. The windows are four-pane casements, with one above and one below each window opening. A low, boarded door, 1.7 metres high and incorporating a flood board, is centrally located. Some original cobbled paving remains. A projecting chimney breast, slated at the front, is situated at the left end. A corrugated-iron roofed garage extension extends beyond, formerly an outhouse with a gable chimney, now truncated. A later lean-to has been added to the right, incorporating a steel-frame window and a further door. According to local accounts, a camber-headed, half-glazed door is located centrally at the rear.
