Description
Crwys Farmhouse is a two-storey farmhouse facing south, built from whitewashed sandstone rubble masonry with a slate roof, tile ridge, and yellow brick end-chimneys. The gables are capped with sandstone. The front features a symmetrical three-window arrangement with four-pane recessed-frame sash windows both above and below, complete with stone sills and flat arch heads. There is a central porch with a slate roof, which has a modern semi-glazed door set in a round-headed opening.
At the rear, the roof is catslide over a single-storey extension, which includes an off-centre door and two casement windows, along with two small windows on each side elevation. There is an additional stone chimney near the north-east corner that served the hearth of the former corn-dryer. The front garden wall is topped with half-round slag blocks.
Inside, the layout includes a parlour on the left, the original kitchen on the right, and a central staircase. Each main room has panelled doors. The parlour features door architrave mouldings indicating there was originally a dado in that room. At the rear, beneath the catslide roof, is a corn-dryer with a perforated brick floor. The roof carpentry is of collar-beam type with dovetailed pegged joints.
