Description
York Place Baptist Chapel is a two-storey building featuring a symmetrical stucco front with advanced outer bays and a later lean-to porch. The chapel has a hipped slate roof with bracket eaves and painted quoins on the first floor. It includes four arched windows with two-light traceried heads. A fine relocated pedimented doorcase is adorned with Ionic half-columns and a lettered frieze, along with a hoodmould that has a keyblock above the arched doorway, which contains double doors. The outer bays have segmental-headed windows positioned between pilasters, while the side elevations are plain rendered with arched window heads. To the right, there is a later gabled hall block that is set back, and a school room range is located at the rear. Inside, there is a four-bay galleried interior.
