Description
The cart-house at Tan-y-fedw is a two-storey outbuilding constructed from rubble stone and topped with an asbestos sheet roof. The front features two cambered arches made of stone voussoirs. On the left end wall, there are outside steps leading to a broad loft door, with a window located beneath a single timber lintel. The right end wall displays a resited medieval window made of purple stone, which is a single light with a chamfered design and a cusped ogee head. Square holes for iron bars are present in the jambs and head of this window.
Inside, the cart shed includes a small recess on the right side wall, although there is little evidence to suggest that this wall is medieval. The timber lintels behind the arches are adzed to match the arch profile. The ceiling is joisted and features a single chamfered centre beam.
