Description
The byre at Tynyllwyn is a building with random rubble walls and a steeply pitched stone-tile roof. The gable end faces the yard and features doorways on the right and left, both with timber lintels and boarded doors. The left doorway has a chamfered surround. In the center of the gable end is a window that has been converted from a former doorway. The ground floor openings are topped with a continuous drip stone.
External stone steps, added and offset to the right of center, lead to a tall central loft doorway, which is also under a drip stone and has a boarded door with an overlight. The right side wall includes a short low gabled link to the barn, which has a corrugated iron roof and a full-height doorway leading to the yard. The left side wall of the byre has a central opening under a timber lintel, and there is a rubble stone wall attached to the left of center.
In the rear gable end, there is a window in the center, above which is a ventilation slit, and a triangular breather located below the apex. The roof structure is a simple tie-beam design.
