Description

Ffrwd Uchaf Farmhouse and the attached outbuilding is a farmhouse built from rubble stone, featuring close-eaved slate roofs. The building consists of three sections, with the roofs stepping down to the left, and a cowhouse located downhill to the right. The main part of the house, which is believed to have been rebuilt around 1900, has two 4-pane sash windows on each floor, with the upper ones being longer. There is an off-centre door situated close to the right sash. The windows have stone voussoirs over cambered heads and stone sills, and there is a stone chimney on the right end.

The section to the left has continuous walling, with a door to the right and a window to the left, both featuring stone voussoirs. Above the left window, there is a pair of casement windows under the eaves. The chimney on the left end has been removed. The short lowest section on the extreme left has one window with stone voussoirs. All windows and doors were renewed in the late 20th century. The end wall of the top section is rendered, and the rear of the second section has an added rear wing. The main house's rear has a small projection to the left, which appears to be a 17th or 18th-century stair projection with a tiny window. The rear wall to the right features an arch with stone voussoirs, which seems to be a blocked cart entry, along with one window to the right and two above.

The cowshed to the right is constructed of whitewashed rubble stone and has five doors with timber lintels, with the third and fifth doors now converted into windows. It is said that there is a stone winding stair within the farmhouse and a fireplace with an oak lintel. Additionally, a deep fireplace in the upper section is reported to have been blocked.
