Description
Penmoel Cottage is a Tudor Gothic style cottage built in one-and-a-half storeys. It features a main range with a wing set back to the right and a lower added wing to the left. The cottage is constructed of coursed rubble sandstone and has a stone tile roof. A stone stack on the right wing has three detached diagonal shafts. The main range has two windows with diamond-pattern, iron-frame glazing. To the left, there is a three-light mullioned window with a hood mould. An advanced cross gable set back from the angle to the right has a pendant finial and a two-light attic casement under a Tudor head. The doorway beneath this gable has a similar head and a boarded door with ornate strap hinges. The right wing contains a three-light window with a hood mould, and its right side wall features a gablet to the left with pierced barge boards and a pendant finial. A two-light mullioned window with Y-tracery is also present. The added wing to the left has details that are similar to, but plainer than, those of the main range. The property was not inspected at the time of the survey in December 1997.
