Description
The embanked aqueduct, located to the south-east of Canal Bridge No 94, was completed in 1812 under the direction of William Crosley. This section of the canal follows the natural contours of the land, which means that instead of using locks, it features embanked aqueducts at sharp bends. In several areas, streams feed into the canal, with half of the water being diverted into it while the rest flows underneath the aqueduct. This particular aqueduct also includes a pond in the woodland directly beneath it, with remnants of its masonry dam still visible, standing approximately 4 meters high.
The masonry revetment on the downhill side forms the embanked aqueduct, allowing the canal to navigate around a corner and over the stream, which passes beneath a low semicircular arch made of voussoirs. There are no parapets present. The west side, including the overflow, is not accessible.
