Description
The Limekiln at the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal Sanitary Station is a structure made of random-rubble stone with a low round-headed draw arch. The draw hole is filled with rubble stone behind the wall's face. The top of the wall features a modern stone coping. To the left, there is a later retaining wall. On top of this structure, there is a modern toilet block, and on the west side, a round concrete cap likely indicates the presence of a second kiln. It is noteworthy that the kiln(s) were charged at the level of the tow-path, which is unusual, as typically the draw arch is found at this level, as seen in Llangattock and Talybont on Usk.
