Harley's Almshouses

Harley's Almshouses is a building that primarily consists of a single storey, except for Nos. 6 and 7, which are two storeys with one window front. The structure is made of coursed rubble and features a plinth. It has a slate roof with overhanging eaves and brick chimney stacks set diagonally, with the taller stacks located at the center flanking a two-window pebbledash gable for Nos. 6 and 7. The windows and door openings have voussoir lintels and include paired casement windows with diamond leaded glazing and boarded shutters that have C-shaped fastenings, along with boarded doors. There are slated lean-to hoods over the entrances, which are twinned except for the end houses.

A 1927 addition features casement windows and includes a crucifix above a datestone, along with a coat of arms in a diamond recess. A modern tablet below the coat of arms is inscribed with "Harley Almshouses, these almshouses were built and endowed by Frances Harley in memory of her Sister Martha Harley of Trebarried in 1836; they were modernised in 1974." The rear of the building has modern windows and a central lean-to.
