Description
1 The Old Inn is a pair of houses that have been joined to create a rough L-shape facing a yard. The buildings are constructed of rubble sandstone that has been painted white, with stone-tile roofs. The upper house, which includes a rebuilt end, is located on the north side next to the main road, while the lower house is positioned at an oblique angle to the southeast.
The upper house, which consists of Nos 1 and 2, features original stone stacks to the left and right of the center, along with a 19th-century stack over the left gable end. The original front that faces the yard has added lean-tos and features inserted 1- and 2-light casement windows on the first floor. The three-window early 19th-century front on the north side facing the road is pebble-dashed. The lower storey has 12-pane hornless sash windows, while the upper storey has similar 9-pane sash windows. There is a doorway with a boarded door located to the left of center, which is accessed by steps. The east gable end includes a corbelled first-floor stack with an added window to its left.
The property was not inspected at the time of the survey in September 1997.
