Description
Zoar Chapel is a simple Gothic-style chapel built in 1844. It features a broad front that follows the traditional long-wall design. The building is constructed from local rubble masonry and has a slate roof, with the right-hand gable end rendered in cement.
The front facade includes two tall windows with freestone surrounds, positioned on either side of a central porch. The windows are designed with a Y-pattern, featuring pointed arched heads, thick vertical glazing bars, and thinner horizontal glazing bars, although the glazing has been renewed. The gabled porch is supported by kneelers and includes side lights and double panelled doors set within a pointed-arched entrance. Above the porch, there is a sandstone plaque that reads 'Erected Zoar 1844', flanked by brace plates.
The chapel also has tall three-light gable end windows with intersecting tracery heads, while the rear elevation is blank and includes a chimney.
