Description
Salem Presbyterian Chapel, built with painted rubble and a Welsh slate roof, features a single cell plan and has an attached lean-to stable on the left, along with a modern timber porch. The gable end faces the road and includes an entrance door located inside the porch. Above the door, there is an 8-pane ogee-headed window with a dressed surround that stands proud. The left long wall is mostly obscured by the stable, which has a plain plank door beneath a timber lintel. The right long wall contains two segmental-headed windows, each with 8 + 8 pane casements, although the second window has only 2 panes on the left side. These windows may have been altered when the chapel was reoriented internally. The rear gable features a central truncated stack flanked by 6 over 6 sash windows with horns. The chapel is situated in a small graveyard that contains several well-cut headstones.
