Description
The Barn at The Pant is a low five-bay structure built from thinly coursed pink and grey sandstone rubble, topped with a stone tile roof. The west elevation features a stable on the left side, which is the higher end of the barn, and includes a small window and door. There are three vertical slit vents, followed by opposing doors leading to the threshing floor, which has a small hood above it. Additionally, there is a single slit vent with two triangular vents above, indicating an interior hay tallet.
The east elevation mirrors this layout but lacks a stable door, and the barn door does not have a hood. The barn is supported by principal rafter trusses with raking struts and three tiers of purlins. The structure contains both reused and renewed timber, with only the trusses being original. The roof has been felted and retiled in recent years. The interior of the stable was not inspected during the resurvey in June 1997.
