Description

Nant y ffin Cider Mill is a two-storey building with a lower one-and-a-half-storey mill wing on the left, forming an L-shape. The main range consists of three units, with the original house located on the right. It is constructed of whitewashed rubble stone and features a stone tile roof. The main range has three 19th-century dressed stone ridge stacks and a two-window front. In the upper storey, there is an inserted casement window on the right under the wall plate and a four-light casement window on the left in a widened opening. The lower storey has inserted casement windows on both sides of the doorway, which features a boarded door set within an added gabled timber-framed porch. There is also an added lean-to on the right gable end.

The mill section has a front centre outshut with double boarded cart doors that have fleur-de-lys strap hinges. A one-and-a-half storey cross gable on the right includes a two-light casement window in the attic and stone steps on the right side leading to a former loft doorway. Further to the right, at the angle with the main range, is a shallow outshut with an inserted casement window. The left gable end features a loft casement window in an earlier opening. At the rear, there is a casement window to the right of centre and a boarded door to the left of centre, along with two added skylights on the rear roof slope.

Inside the main house, there is a large fireplace with a timber lintel and remnants of a fireplace stair beside it, which has been cut through to provide access to toilets. The rest of the interior has been modernised. The former mill, now operating as a restaurant, contains a large cider press in the centre of the room.
