The Lodge to Maescelyn is a two-storey, black and white gabled square building dating from 1887. The first floor features half-timbering that jetties over the entrance, while the ground floor is constructed of glazed brick. It has a tiled roof with a central stellar brick chimney stack and overhanging eaves adorned with advanced ornamental bargeboards on the gables. The front has a splayed oriel window with diamond leaded casement windows. The entrance is recessed at the southwest angle, showcasing foliage ornamented timbers. A plaque inside the lodge reads "RTW 1887," which refers to R. Townley Woodman, the patron and owner.
