Description
7 The Postern is part of a two-storey row of four houses, which includes Nos. 5, 6, and 8. These houses are raised above street level and feature narrow forecourts. They have slate roofs with chimneys located at the center and ends. The exterior is cement rendered. Each house has one window bay and an inner doorway. On the first floor, there are two-light casements with small panes, while the ground floor has 12-pane sash windows in plain reveals. Nos. 5 and 6 have six fielded panelled doors, while Nos. 7 and 8 feature ledged doors. The forecourt has a retaining wall made of stone and 19th-century railings with narrow uprights and standards topped with urn finials. Steps lead up from street level at No. 5.
