Description
Tygwyn is a 19th-century building featuring roughcast walls and a slate roof, with cement render and brick chimney stacks, one of which is diagonally set in the rear cross range. The eaves are bracketed, and there are ornamental bargeboards on the gable ends, including a gable on the central advanced bay. The first floor has cross windows, while the ground floor has splayed bays flanking a central boarded door. To the left end, there is a Gothick pointed sash window with a projecting gabled chimney breast.
The building is two stories tall, but the rear cross range is lower. It has three windows plus another that is blocked, with sash windows of various types, including a Gothick style in the center. There is a lean-to hood over a small bay window beside a four-panel door on the ground floor. The last bay is stepped back and features another boarded door below a blind Gothick window. The rear has undergone modern alterations.
The property includes rubble gate piers for the drive on the left, with boarded gates and a door to the right under a pointed arched opening. The drive is flanked by an attached rubble wall on the left, and there are further gate piers at the rear that formerly led to stables and a coach house.
Inside, the building retains Gothick panelled and ornamented doors.
