Description
The Old House and attached stable at Maengwyn is a 2-storey building featuring three windows, constructed from rubble stone with a corrugated iron roof and a stone stack on the left side. The openings are offset to the right. The entrance includes a round-headed doorway with voussoirs and a keystone, leading to a boarded door and a blank tympanum. This entrance is flanked by keyed segmental windows, also with voussoirs. The upper-storey windows are smaller and positioned beneath the eaves. All windows have been replaced with wooden shutters for agricultural use.
On the left side, there is a lower lofted stable made of rubble stone with a cement-grouted slate roof. To the right, there is a wide 4-centred arch with voussoirs and a keystone, which has double boarded doors. In the gable end of the stable, there is a boarded loft door set in a segmental brick surround.
Additionally, attached to the right (northeast) side of the house is a single-storey former shop, followed by a 2-storey house, both of which are rendered and have slate roofs. The property has not been inspected.
