Description

Carmarthenshire Dock west quay is a well-constructed stone quay built in 1805. It is straight and level from its northern end at the former tranroad bridge and extends for about 170 meters southwards. Near its southern end, it is crossed by a modern road bridge. The quay is made of dressed sandstone that is carefully coursed, featuring large sandstone copings. The wall rises approximately 6 meters from the current silt level in the Afon Lliedi and has a slight batter at the base. It is believed to be tied to a concealed stone dock floor.
