Description

The Outer Gatehouse to Laugharne Castle is a Grade I listed structure. It features a gateway passage that is flanked by rectangular guardroom chambers on the ground floor, with a central room above that includes a side garderobe. The building has voussoired openings, chamfered and spur buttresses, and arrowslits with oillets. A dragon weathervane adorns the top of the gatehouse. This site is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
