Description
The bandstand in the grounds of Parc Howard is an early 20th-century structure featuring eight cast-iron columns that support a deep-eaved slate roof, which is held up by ornate brackets. It has a concrete base, and each column is adorned with three brackets: one extending outward and one on each side. The underside of the roof is flat-boarded. The bandstand also includes cast-iron crested gutters with finials at each corner, along with a larger finial at the apex of the roof.
The bandstand has been modified to accommodate an aviary, resulting in some columns being boarded in, although they appear to remain intact. Of the original railings that surrounded each section, only four are still present. The iron columns are stamped with the name 'Kelvin Iron Co, 48 Lime Street, London EC'.
