Description
The wall and gatepiers to the stable court at Y Plas are a notable feature from the 19th century. The wall, which has a slate coping, runs along the eastern side of the stable court, connecting the walled garden to the south with the service wing of Y Plas. The northern end of the wall makes a right angle turn to the west, approximately 4 meters south of the main house.
At the eastern side of the coach-house, there are paired square stone gatepiers made of cut slate ashlar, topped with corniced slate caps. The entrance is marked by paired wrought-iron gates that include dog-bars beneath the center rail. The gates feature spearheads above curved top rails, which rise to the sides and center posts.
