Description
Bank House is an earlier 19th century house located in an informal terrace. It stands two storeys high and features four bays, with the three right-hand bays making up the main house. The left-hand bay, previously noted as vehicular access on the ground floor, has now been infilled to create a separate entrance. The house has a slate gabled roof, with a red brick chimney stack on the right and another on the ridge to the left of the main three bays.
The exterior showcases a slate roof, moulded timber eaves, and a painted stucco facade that includes channelled piers on either side and a raised plinth. The first floor has renewed 12-pane hornless sash windows, and there are windows flanking a fine arched doorway. This doorway features an original six-panel door, with four fielded panels and two flush panels, along with a radiating-bar fanlight set in a matching panelled reveal. Access to the doorway is via two steps. The tall timber doorcase is adorned with pilasters, each topped with an entablature section, and a flat hood above.
The left-hand infilled through-way has a 20th-century door and window with a low flat head, which was formerly a cambered-arched entry. The interior has not been inspected, but shutters are visible on the ground floor sash windows.
