Description
Clifton House is an early 19th-century Georgian building, noted on the 1834 survey map. It is a two-storey structure with a basement and features a roughcast front with a plinth and a removed band course. The slate roof is complemented by brick chimney stacks at either end. The façade includes three widely spaced 16-pane sash windows, with a blank wall area to the left of a boarded door. The central entrance is marked by an open pedimented doorcase leading to a four-panel door topped with a five-pane fanlight, along with a small basement hatch.
The left end of the house is roughcast, while the right end is constructed of rubble, and there is a cross range at the rear.
Inside, the house retains its contemporary features, including arched recesses in all rooms and panelled doors.
