Assorting Room at former Kidwelly Tinplate Works

The Assorting Room at the former Kidwelly Tinplate Works is a single-storey building constructed of red brick with a tarred felt roof. The west side features many altered openings. Originally, the openings had yellow-brick jambs and rounded cambered heads, but almost all have been blocked or modified. At the right end, there are three blocked windows with cast-iron sills, which appear to have been raised or inserted later. The jambs or entire frames of other blocked windows are irregularly spaced along the length of the wall. There is one doorway towards the right end with a 20th-century concrete lintel, and a ledged door in an altered opening towards the left end. The upper end wall is whitewashed and includes a 20th-century sliding door. The rear of the building originally had eight windows, three of which are blocked, while some still retain their original cast-iron 9-pane glazing bars.

Inside, the walls are whitewashed brick, and there is a long sorting bench along the rear wall. The roof is supported by trussed steel and consists of nine bays, with boarding beneath the roof cladding.
