Description

Derry Hall is a two-storey country house with a basement, featuring a formal three-window front. The exterior is finished in painted stucco with a slated roof and red brick end stacks. The front of the house includes a full-length timber veranda with a pitched, tiled roof supported by chamfered timber pillars. At the center, there are paired panelled timber doors with glazed upper panels set in a recessed light timber doorcase. Each floor has six-pane painted timber sash windows, with narrower outer panes and slate sills. The eaves are plain boarded.

On the right end, there is a gable window that matches those on the front. To the right of center on the ground floor, there is a step leading to a later 20th-century painted timber door with a glazed upper panel and overlight. To the far right, there are basement and first-floor windows, which are later 20th-century timber four-pane windows with slate sills. The left gable end wall is blank. Both gables feature decorative scrolled timber barge boards.

The irregular three-bay rear of the house has three storeys, with landing windows in the center. The upper storey has a tall, margin-glazed center sash flanked by six-pane sashes. The middle storey has a similar six-pane sash for the stair, set lower than the matching flanks. The basement has a pair of later 20th-century four-pane windows on the left, with the inner window being internally blocked. There is a later 20th-century painted, boarded timber door in the center bay, and a six-pane, marginal-glazed timber sash in the right bay.

The interior has not been inspected, but it is suggested that there is a wide timber staircase in the center.
