Description
Pilgrims Graves, located by the ruins of St Michael's Church, consists of three decorated stone grave slabs from the late 12th century or early 13th century. These slabs are arranged in a line within a small rectangular enclosure made of low, raised stones. Each slab features small, arch-headed head and foot stones that display cross and cable decoration. The left slab has a hog-backed shape with a raised cross along the ridge. The central slab shows a female figure with her arms crossed around a cross motif, holding a rod in her left hand, with animals depicted flanking her head; the upper section of this stone also features a crossed lattice pattern. The right slab presents a full-length female figure dressed in a long gown.
