Description
Brixton Farmhouse is an early 19th-century, two-storey farmhouse featuring a lower cross range at the rear. It has slate roofs that are hipped at the left end, along with brick and cement render chimney stacks. The front façade is broad with four plus one windows, slate hung, and includes horned sash windows. There is a six-panel door located off-centre to the right, which is accompanied by a modern lean-to half-glazed porch. The right-hand bay is created by the overlap of the cross range and has a casement window at the top.
To the left end, there is a brick privy next to an advanced and splayed two-storey bay that features a 12-pane sash window above French windows. The left-hand cross range has modern alterations and a kitchen extension, while the right side includes a 19th-century lean-to and a gabled dormer. The chimney stacks are located at the rear gable ends. The rear is constructed of whitewashed rubble and has a tall small-pane sash window in the centre, along with a cement plinth.
A small paved yard is formed by a stone wall across the north side, which includes a gate. There is also a water pump by Bamford of Uttoxeter, featuring a fluted cap and a curving handle, along with a stone trough.
