Description

15 High Street is a three-storey terraced house, dating from the 18th century, with a slate roof and painted stucco exterior. The front facade has a three-window arrangement. The top floor features 12-pane hornless sash windows, while the first floor has longer 15-pane sashes. A modern shopfront occupies the ground floor, set within a casing of green-veined stone. A parallel rear range extends to three storeys and three bays, with a stairwell featuring a 12-pane window with thick glazing bars. An additional rear wing is located to the southwest.

The interior of the shop has been significantly altered on the ground floor and the first floor at the rear. A fireplace featuring carved arms is believed to be concealed behind a wall in the rear first-floor room. Access to the upper floors is gained via a passage running underneath number 13. The staircase, consisting of two flights, shows damage, but retains some original turned balusters, moulded ramped handrails, and square newels, along with a closed string.
