Description
Yerbeston Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from 1793, although it has older origins. It is constructed of rubble stone, which was formerly roughcast, and features a slate eaves roof that was once grouted, along with roughcast end stacks. The main front is two storeys high and has three windows, which are 20th-century replacements for the original sash windows. There is a central door located in a gabled stone porch that has an arched entry and impost bands. Above the door is a datestone that reads: 'Built by Geo Seale 1793'.
The farmhouse has a lean-to added to the south end, which was later raised and has a curved southeast corner. The north end features a service range, likely of earlier construction, which has a lower roof, one upper window, and a window and door below. A massive square stack is located on the west end, tapering from a wider base and includes a bread oven.
At the rear of the house, there are dove-holes to the left, a lean-to to the right, and another lean-to attached to the service range.
