Description

The South retaining walls to The Parade are made of rubble stone and feature low parapet walls, with much of the structure rebuilt in the later 20th century. The Parade begins at Common Road, near the rear of No 31 Main Street, and extends westward to Westgate Presbyterian Church, with a wide path that slopes down to Common Road approximately halfway along its length. Both the eastern and western sections have stone rubble retaining walls and low parapets, which are sometimes indented to accommodate streetlight recesses. In some areas, there is no visible retaining wall, only a rebuilt low wall situated above an earth bank.
