Description

Long Hook Fawr Farmhouse is a two-storey farmhouse that features whitewashed roughcast walls and a roof covered with corrugated asbestos. Originally, it had stone end-wall stacks, but the larger stack on the left was removed in the late 20th century. The building has a three-window range that is offset to the right. On the first floor, there are two small 4-pane sash windows and one 9-pane hornless sash window. The ground floor has a 4-pane sash window on the left, a 12-pane hornless sash window on the right, and a boarded door between them, which is sheltered by a late 20th-century porch. The timber lintel over the door collapsed in 2002.

At the rear, there is an outshut. The left end wall shows a set-off at mid-height, indicating that the lower range to the left is an addition. This section has a slate roof with a bituminous coating and various rear additions. The left end wall and corner have been rebuilt using blockwork and brick. A wing that extended at right angles has been removed since 1998, exposing rubble stone walling. There is one window on each floor to the right, with a 4-pane window above and a 9-pane window below. The front of the farmhouse is enclosed by a low wall that is colourwashed and features an iron gate.

The interior was not available for inspection during the resurvey. However, the listing from September 1998 describes a central hallway with a wooden staircase, 19th-century sawn timber joists, and mid to late 19th-century doors and door surrounds. The fireplaces have been blocked.
