Description

Two iron bollards from the mid to late 19th century are located on the north side of the quay. They have a plain square top that moulds back to a rounded octagonal shaft and are hollow with pierced holes on each side. The western bollard is inscribed with the words: 'Sturges and Co, Bradford, Yorks, Ironworks'. These bollards are similar in design to those found around the Graving Dock.

Additionally, there is a cannon barrel set upright as a bollard just north of Old Pier House. This cannon is the last remaining in its original position from a set, as the others have been retrieved and mounted on new carriages, such as those at Fort Road Park. The cannons are believed to be of Dutch origin.
