Description
This is a row of three terraced houses, numbers 17-21 Meyrick Street, built in the 18th century. They have three storeys and originally three windows each, though alterations have occurred. The facades are unified by a cornice and parapet, with a pediment over the centre house. The centre house features pilasters, and the window architraves are moulded, with a sill band carried across the entire row. Number 17 has a thin band under the first floor, extending over a pilaster on the left end, while number 21 has rusticated angle quoins.
Number 17 has 20th-century windows, including a late 19th-century timber oriel window on the first floor, with a lean-to slate roof. The ground floor has a recessed arched carriage entry on the left, an off-centre recessed arched doorway with a 20th-century door, and an unaligned window to the right. Number 19 has four-pane sash windows on the upper floors, a keystone distinguishing the top-floor centre window, and an eared architrave above the first-floor centre window. The ground floor has a plate glass sash window in a similar surround to the centre, a door in a matching architrave to the right, and a plain door to the left. Number 21 also has 20th-century windows, with similar architrave detailing to number 19, but with a 20th-century fascia. The ground floor has 20th-century shopfront windows and a door.
