Description
Section 1 of the churchyard railings at the Church of Saint John features 19th-century railings with squared rubble low walls topped with stone coping and low spearhead rails along Bush Street. There are two grey stone gatepiers with cross-gabled caps located opposite the north porch, along with a small pier at the west end. On Church Street, the early 20th-century railings are more ornate, featuring decorative spearheads and ending at a pair of substantial 19th-century ashlar piers with cusped cross-gables and iron gates, aligned with the south porch. Photographs from around 1900 show a rubble stone wall along Church Street.
