Description
Section 2 of the Churchyard Railings at the Church of Saint John features 19th-century railings with squared rubble low walls topped with stone coping and low spearhead rails along Bush Street. There are two grey stone gatepiers with cross-gabled caps positioned opposite the north porch, along with a small pier at the west end. On Church Street, the railings date from the early 20th century and are adorned with more ornate spearheads. These railings are terminated by a pair of heavy 19th-century ashlar piers that have cusped cross-gables and iron gates, aligning with the south porch. Historical photographs from around 1900 depict a rubble stone wall along Church Street.
