Description
The Western Telegraph is a house built around 1848-1850, featuring painted roughcast walls and a hipped roof designed to resemble slate, sloping to the south. It is two stories high and has a three-window range, with 16-pane sash windows set in thin stucco surrounds. The central door is topped with an overlight and framed by a moulded architrave. The left window on the ground floor has been replaced by a plate glass fixed light. The south wall is blank. Old photographs indicate that there was a tall stack at the south end of the building.
