Description
This milestone dates to the period when the A478 road was constructed. It is made of cast-iron plates affixed to a stone or concrete base, which likely replaced the original milestone. The milestone has a canted front featuring two triangular-headed faces. One face displays the inscription “5 miles 970 yards to Tenby,” while the other reads “5 miles to Narberth.” The cast-iron plates are painted white with black lettering, and the plates are joined at a 90-degree angle, with black trim outlining the structure.
