Description
8 Hill Terrace is an end-terraced house built from stone rubble, featuring an imitation slate roof that is hipped at the left end. The roof includes a roof light, and there are two stacks: one at the left end and another on the rear gable. The front elevation consists of a basement and two storeys, arranged in a two-window range. All openings have been renewed in the 20th century with brick or applied slate heads. The first floor has two 12-pane sash windows, while the ground floor has one sash window to the left and a doorway with a 20th-century door and overlight to the right. There is a 20th-century cross-window in the basement to the left. Access to the door is via three slate steps and a slate path.
The tall left end elevation rises to three storeys and also features a two-window range that is offset to the left. This elevation includes similar 12-pane sash windows and a 20th-century ledged door to the right. The previous listing noted that the front wall was colourwashed, the roof was cement grouted, the windows were different, and the door was a six-panel design with fielded panels and an overlight featuring lozenge tracery.
