Description
The building is a church hall built in 1851, designed in the Tudor Gothic style. It is constructed from squared rubble stone and features stone-mullioned flat-headed windows, voussoirs, slate roofs, and stone stacks. The hall has a picturesque L-plan layout, with a single-storey school block on the right and a gabled two-storey house projecting to the left.
The school block includes a west side stack, two three-light windows, and a door located in the angle. The door is set within a Tudor-arched projected doorcase that extends up to a bellcote. Above the door, there is a circular light and a plaque that reads: ‘Llanrhian National School. Erected in the year of our Lord 1851 on ground granted by George Le Hunte Esq by the contributions of private individuals aided by grants from the Committee of Council on Education, the National Society and the Church Union Society of this diocese. Jacob Hughes Vicar. John Prosser and Titus Thomas Churchwardens. Maethwch hwyn yn addysg ac athrawiaeth yr Arglwydd.’
The house features a west side stack adjacent to the bellcote and has a two-light window on each floor. There is also a further range behind the house that includes a west side stack, a south end stack, and a lower section to the south with an end stack. The east-facing front has two windows, which are fitted with 20th-century windows and are adorned with stone voussoirs.
