Description
Llanrhian Mill is a water-powered corn mill constructed from coursed rubble stone with a grouted slate, half-hipped roof. The building has two storeys and features a later attached outbuilding extending west from the right side of the west front. The front of the mill has two ground floor openings with camber arches and stone arches; the left opening contains boarded double doors, while the centre opening has been partially infilled with an added window. Above these openings are two small 4-pane lights, and a plaque indicating the year 1827 is situated between them. The outbuilding has brick corners and brick sides, with two stable doors located on the north front, topped by a corrugated iron roof. The north end has earth and stone ramps leading up to a loft door. The rear wall features a 6-pane upper window on the right and a low boarded opening on the left side at ground level. The south end of the mill houses a large timber and iron overshot waterwheel located in a rubble wheel-pit, with a high rubble feeder on the bank behind it. There is a loft window situated above the wheel. Inside, the mill retains its complete original machinery.
