Description
Broomhill Farmhouse is a farmhouse constructed with unpainted render and roughcast, topped with slate roofs. The front range, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, features a two-storey, three-window south front that is rendered and lined with 12-pane hornless sash windows. There is an added rendered gabled porch on the south side, which includes a window and a door on the east side. The farmhouse has small rendered end stacks and small loft windows in the end gables.
To the west, there is a single-storey outbuilding with a grouted slate roof and a whitewashed rubble gable end. The rear of the farmhouse has two substantial wings with a recessed stair gable situated between them. The stair gable features a horned 12-pane sash window. The northwest wing has a large external stack on the north end with battered sides, which may date from the 17th century or early 18th century. Above the gabled porch, there is one window on the first floor facing west, along with a north-facing ledged door. The northeast wing, likely added in the early 20th century, includes a small stack on the north side and paired 4-pane windows on the first floor to the east, situated above a door, as well as a ground floor window on the north end.
