Description
The Wedgwood Memorial Fountain is a drinking fountain featuring a shallow octagonal basin located on top of a tall octagonal stone pedestal. This pedestal is decorated with slender stone banded columns that have capitals. Rising from the basin at the top of the lower pedestal is an identical but narrower octagonal structure. On the north and south sides of the lower pedestal, there are rectangular basins set back behind cusped headed openings. The east side of the lower pedestal has a tablet that reads: "This fountain was given by Dr Dyster in memory of Lieutenant-Colonel Thomas Wedgwood 3rd Guards, of St Mary’s Hill Tenby who died 7 November 1860, aged 62. He fought at Waterloo."
