Description

Cromlech House is an early to mid 19th century house featuring a white roughcast exterior with stucco dressings, a slate roof, and stone end stacks. The building is two and a half storeys tall and has a three-window front, highlighted by a central pedimental gable and a tripartite lunette. The main floors have 12-pane sash windows set in rusticated surrounds with slate sills. The central entrance door is a two-panel design with triangular heads on the panels and a narrow overlight, located within an open porch supported by two fluted thin columns, half-column responds, plain square caps, and a simple timber cornice with a flat roof. The house has a stucco plinth and angle quoins, with the left end wall rendered and whitewashed, while the right end wall is made of stone. There is an outshut at the rear and an attached outbuilding on the right end. The front yard is enclosed by spearhead iron railings and a gate, with dog bars but no plinth. Rubble walls are present on each side of the house, extending to the back. The architectural details are similar to those found at Westleigh on Upper West Street, south side.
