Description
The Buccaneer Inn is a public house with accommodation above, dating from the 20th century. It features painted stucco and has a mansard roof designed to resemble slate, set behind a parapet, with two red brick stacks at the right end. The building stands three storeys tall with an attic and has a three-window range of late 20th century hornless 12-pane sash windows.
On the first floor, there is a canted oriel window on the right with 4-16-4-pane glazing and a cornice, which was replaced in the late 20th century. The ground floor has been altered in a neo-Georgian style since 1977. It has a recess across the left and centre, featuring from left to right: a 20th century door with an overlight, a canted bay window with 4-20-4-pane glazing, and a narrow 8-pane sash window. To the right of centre, there is a recessed main door with an overlight, flanked by piers with moulded caps, added since 1977. To the right, another recess contains two 12-pane sash windows. A moulded string course has been added above the ground floor since 1977, which breaks forward over the door. There are also three 20th century dormers behind the parapet.
The rear of the building is rendered and was mostly restored in the late 20th century. It has a hipped roof to the left, which may have originally been a rear wing, and is infilled to the right. The rear features 20th century windows and metal outside stairs, with two red brick stacks on the left side wall.
