Description
Lock House is a house built in the Tudor Gothic style, featuring white painted stucco and concrete tiles on the roof, which were previously slate. The building has two storeys and an attic, comprising three bays, with a narrow entrance bay that is slightly recessed between two large gables. It stands on a raised plinth and has long windows with small-paned casements, which originally had pointed heads on the top panes. Each side of the house features a three-light window with a hoodmould on both floors, and a two-light window in the centre of the first floor, situated under a small gable and above a four-centred doorway that has a Tudor-headed panelled door. The main gables each include a small attic loop.
At the rear, there is a parallel range with hipped dormers and two first floor 12-pane windows, all of which are from the 20th century or have been remodelled during that time. The house is set back from the street, featuring a paved forecourt that once had a wall and railings.
Inside, the layout follows a centre passage plan with a Tudor arch leading to the rear stair. The staircase has stick balusters and a thin bulbous newel post, along with six-panel doors throughout.
